MSD Idea Studio Europe
In June 2024 MSD announced a new venture-capital supported program. The MSD Idea Studio Europe will be executing partnerships and investing in innovative digital health solutions that improve patient care and access to healthcare provided by start-ups.
About the initiative
The MSD Idea Studio aims to enable the next generation of innovative digital healthcare technologies and solutions, ranging from prevention to diagnosis and therapy support. The investment will be funded by the MSD Global Health Innovation Fund (GHIF) and is part of MSD’s ongoing commitment to supporting small companies and start-ups in developing novel health solutions that improve patient care and access to healthcare. MSD will invest a total of 15 million Euro over three years. The initiative will collaborate with local MSD organizations, startups and other partners.
Projects for patient needs
Based in Berlin, MSD Idea Studio Europe will not only provide funding to start-ups but also focus on building partnerships with technology companies, clinics, and other healthcare stakeholders. The focus is on projects that concentrate on oncology, immunology, and vaccines and will address patient-centred issues in the areas of prevention and health literacy. Emphasis will also be on improving early detection and diagnosis through technology and data, utilizing therapy support and remote patient monitoring solutions to enhance adherence and quality of life, and streamlining clinical trial processes and recruitment.
